Requires license topractice as a Registered Nurse in New York State, Master's degree in nursing orcompletion of a course for Nurse Practitioner and certification as a NursePractitioner. One (1) year of full-time work experience as a Nurse Practitionerin general internal medicine.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Two (2) additional yearsof NP experience in general internal medicine. Oncology experience. Familiaritywith NCCN guidelines and performing phlebotomy, conducting spirometry tests andEKGs. Bilingual Spanish/English. Knowledge of WTC Health Program policiesand procedures.
Brief Description ofDuties:
The NursePractitioner will be responsible for the following duties:
Conduct monitoringexaminations for the WTC Monitoring Program patients under the supervision ofthe Director or designee.
Provide treatment to WTCProgram patients for WTC covered conditions including but not limited to aerodigestive diseases and psychological and social problems. Actively participatein our Collaborative Care Model of healthcare delivery.
Make referrals asappropriate to other healthcare providers and/or consult with physicians forfurther definitive therapy.
Perform necessaryadministrative duties associated with the WTC program including but not limitedto completing final letters, Worker's Compensation, SSI (supplemental securityincome), LODI (line of duty injury), attorney- requested forms, letters, aswell as certification for WTC-related illnesses, which is required ofmember services.
Work with Cernerelectronic medical records system for all patient charting documentation.
Maintain ongoingcommunication with physicians, social workers, Clinical Administrator, nursesand other staff relative to select aspects of patient care or administrativeissues.
Other duties asassigned.
Special Notes: Occasional Saturdays will be required. Travelbetween the Mineola and Commack clinics will be required. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for theovertime provisions of the FLSA.
